About

My name is Ken Knoll. I was born in 1985 in Wiesbaden, Germany. My interest in photography began quite early. I remember taking one of my first picture at the age of 3 or 4.

I decided to take photography a little more seriously when I borrowed my father’s old Asahi Pentax at the age of 19. I soon bought my own (used) digital SLR and started shooting. No certain subjects, everything seemed equally interesting. My interests have shifted a little since then – check out my galleries to see for yourselves. I am currently almost exclusively doing people photography.

I like low-budget photography. I never owned a studio setup (still I occasionally managed to sneak in some studios to take some pictures), thats’s why I mostly relied on available light. Not too long ago, I started to dive into the whole “Strobist” movement – a whole new world opened up. And yet, I like keeping it simple and concentrate on the moment rather than my gear.

I would love to get your feedback. Use the comment function in the blog, write me an email: hknoll22@gmail.com (add 1 to the 22). Take some time scrolling through my galleries, and if you’re interested in how these pictures were taken, read my blog. If you want to know more about a particular picture, let me know, I’d be glad to share my experience with you.

Best wishes,
Ken
