Neon
While the booth series emphasizes the moment and the spontaneity of the human connection, this series focuses on the technically clean exposure of human faces. In my first portrait series I relied on available light and natural smiles to create a natural look – this series is nothing but natural. Two big strips of bright neon light, inspired by Martin Schoeller, bring out every detail and create pin sharp exposures. It is not about the perfect smile, it is not about emotions. It is about the very shape and form of faces.
