Working on the photo booth project

I took a couple of shots of the construction I devised for my upcoming photo booth project. Instead of building a self-supporting frame construction I will just hang the whole thing (which really doesn’t weigh anything) to a door.

Another thing I am working on right now is a circuit that releases the shutter four times automatically (just as you’d expect a photo booth to behave). Actually, I tried to use the Interval Timer function of that RemoteCapture Tool that Canon offers, but unfortunately that didn’t go too well: Whenever the timer function takes one frame, it shovels the data via the slow USB port, prompting the software to freeze for at least 10s. A 10s interval is definitely too slow for my photo booth, so I decided to do the whole thing the oldschool electronic way using two 555 ICs and a couple of resistors and capacitors. We’ll see how that goes.
